Greetings!
Have you ever considered that the greatest friend you may ever have is someone you have never met, living in a land you have never seen? International Pen Friends (IPF) was established in 1967 and since that time we have processed over 2 million application forms from people living in nearly every country around the world. IPF respects your privacy and the information we ask you to complete on the application form is only used for the purpose of providing you with our pen friend service. Please contact us if you would like a copy of our Privacy Policy. IPF does not provide a pen friend service to prisoners.
If your main hobby or interest is exchanging stamps, then some of the contacts we give you will be stamp-exchanging club members.
A comprehensive programme is available for Teachers, School Classes, Girl Guides, Boy Scouts and all Youth Groups aged 10-17 years. We will send full details of this programme to you if you apply for forms S100E/700. Teachers and group leaders that enrol a class/group into IPF can also subscribe to our magazine 'People & Places' and submit an article and photos for publication in the School Class Pen Friend Journeys section of the magazine to become eligible to win a prize of Australian $100 for their school/organisation.
IPF was founded on 7 April 1967 in Dublin, Ireland by Neil O'Donnell who remained President until 31 January 2001 when he retired.
On 1 February 2001 IPF relocated to Australia. The current President joined IPF in 1979, became an agent in 1982, the Australian Coordinator in 1990, and she is still writing to some of the people who were on the first list of pen friends she received from IPF.
In order to give you the greatest variety of correspondents we have Agents around the world who are represented on the Internet. We use the latest computer equipment to provide you with an efficient and accurate service. We hope that you will join us and by your honest and sincere correspondence you will encourage international harmony and find many true friends among "International Pen Friends".
